At Solomon's Palace & Chateaus, our dedicated Mashgichim are the guardians of authentic kosher observance — ensuring every ingredient, every dish, and every kitchen moment meets the most rigorous halachic standards.
Explore Our Standards Our CertificationsWhat Is a Mashgiach?
A Mashgiach (מַשְׁגִּיחַ) — plural Mashgichim — is a trained Jewish kosher supervisor whose sole responsibility is to ensure that all food preparation within a facility strictly adheres to halachic (Jewish law) requirements.
The word derives from the Hebrew root meaning "to supervise" or "to observe." Far more than an inspector, a Mashgiach is a scholar, a guardian, and a trusted presence whose expertise brings peace of mind to every kosher-observant guest.
At Solomon's Palace, our Mashgichim are on-site full-time across all restaurants, banquet kitchens, and food preparation areas — not a part-time visit, but a permanent, unwavering commitment.
"The Mashgiach does not merely observe what is prepared — he sanctifies the intention behind every act of preparation."— Principles of Kashrut Supervision
The Six Pillars of Kosher Supervision
Ingredient Verification
Every ingredient entering the kitchen is inspected, certified, and approved before use — from produce checked for insects to packaged goods verified with proper kosher certification symbols.
Meat & Poultry Oversight
All meat and poultry must carry Glatt kosher certification from an approved slaughterhouse. The Mashgiach verifies sourcing, storage, and proper separation from dairy products at all times.
Bishul Yisrael
Certain foods require a Jewish person to participate in the cooking process. Our Mashgichim ensure the requirement of Bishul Yisrael is properly observed throughout all cooking operations.
Basar B'Chalav Separation
Strict separation of meat and dairy — including separate utensils, cookware, prep surfaces, and storage — is continuously monitored. No cross-contamination of any kind is tolerated.
Shabbat & Yom Tov Compliance
Special protocols govern cooking and food handling on Shabbat and Jewish holidays. Our Mashgichim ensure all kitchen operations comply fully with the halachic requirements for these sacred days.
Ongoing Staff Training
Kosher compliance is a team effort. Our Mashgichim conduct regular training for all kitchen staff, ensuring awareness of kosher protocols and immediate escalation when questions arise.

Glatt · Chalav Yisrael · Pas Yisrael
"For a kosher resort to truly serve its guests, every corner of the kitchen must be as holy as the synagogue next door."
