Years in Las Vegas
Rabbi Harlig arrived in Las Vegas in 1990 from Brooklyn, New York, bringing with him a distinguished lineage of rabbinical teachers and a lifetime of Orthodox Jewish scholarship. What began in his living room has grown into one of the most dynamic Jewish communities in the American West.
Chabad Centers Built
Under Rabbi Harlig's leadership, Chabad of Southern Nevada has grown from a single center to nine thriving locations spanning the greater Las Vegas Valley — including synagogues, a mikvah, the Desert Torah Academy Day School, and dedicated outreach centers at UNLV.

Mashgiach Appointment & Oversight
All resident Mashgichim at Solomon's Palace are appointed with Rabbi Harlig's approval. He maintains ongoing oversight of their work, ensuring consistent application of standards across every kitchen and banquet operation.
Resort-Wide Certification
The Chabad of Southern Nevada kosher certification covers all food service operations at Solomon's Palace — every restaurant, private dining room, catering kitchen, banquet hall, and in-room dining service.
Shabbat & Yom Tov Protocols
Rabbi Harlig personally establishes and approves all halachic protocols for Shabbat and Yom Tov operations — ensuring the resort operates within the full framework of Jewish law on every sacred day.
Wine & Beverage Approval
All wines, spirits, and beverages served at Solomon's Palace are approved under Rabbi Harlig's authority. Our sommelier program is developed in direct consultation with his office to ensure yayin mevushal and full kosher compliance.
Pesach & Holiday Programs
Under Rabbi Harlig's guidance, Solomon's Palace will conduct full bedikas chametz, mechiyas chametz, and a completely kashered Pesach program — overseen directly by Chabad of Southern Nevada leadership.
